"The Trespasser" by Bonnie Jo Campbell

While familiarizing myself with various literary journals, I'm coming across so many fantastic stories by established authors I've yet to read. Bonnie Jo Campbell is one of these. She's a
2011 Guggenheim Fellow and she teaches in the low-res program at Pacific University.

Her short story, "The Trespasser," published in Witness, is heartbreaking and worth the ten minutes or less it will take you to read it.
