"The Overcoat" by Nikolai Gogal

One last ghost story, with a twist of cold-weather wear, on this 1st of November.

I hadn't before read Russian writer Nikolai Gogal's 1842 short story, "The Overcoat," but I've been wanting to since early in the millennium when I read Jhumpa Lahiri's novel, The Namesake, in which her protagonist was reading it when his train derailed, and for which he named his son, Gogal.
