"Family Tree" by Ira Dawson

Flash Fiction Friday

I read about a dozen flash pieces before I came across this one. The others, I could take or leave, but there was something about this one that poked at me, made me want to share it. The imagery is heartbreaking; the storyline, which explores the contagion of suicide, is tragic; and even the form--the sparseness--seems to contribute to the success of it.
